We had a lovely evening to mark Michael's retirement after 23 years of dedicated service to the parishes of Ampthill, Millbrook and Steppingley. At the Farewell Songs of Praise service, Michael explained the reasons behind his choice of hymns. With plenty of anecdotes, sporting references and much laughter it was a heartwarming service as well as heartfelt and the church was full to the rafters. Afterwards, there was a cheese and wine party where Michael was presented with gifts from the congregation and different organisations, including Ampthill PCC.
