Church update

7.ii.2021

Dear friends

Since the beginning of January we have once again been under national restrictions to try and bring down the number of coronavirus cases.

This lockdown is different to previous in that churches and places of worship are permitted to remain open for both private and communal prayer. St Andrew’s and St Lawrence’s have remained open throughout, maintaining our regular schedule of services.

We took the difficult decision at the beginning of January to suspend public worship at St Michael’s. Given the good news about the vaccine roll out, we anticipate services to resume at Millbrook on the 21st February, which is the First Sunday of Lent. Our current schedule of services across the benefice can be found here.

As we turn our gaze away from the festivities of the Christmas season and towards our journey to the cross during Lent, we can be sure that we will be living with restrictions and changes to our worship for a little while yet. In anticipation of Lent and our being unable to gather together in the ways we are used to, I have produced a booklet which not only gives practical information about services, but also some liturgy to hopefully allow you to join in the prayers of the Church from home. You can download the booklet from the bottom of this post.

We continue to record a service from one of our churches each Sunday and upload it to our YouTube channel here.

With all good wishes

Dominic
