SERVICES

At this time when we sadly cannot come together to worship and pray in our own church, there is much material, including videos, online.

The Church of England’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/thechurchofengland/ has, amongst many other things A Prayer for the Day every day, and a Sunday Service for Palm Sunday, with John Sentamu, Archbishop of York. I’m sure other Easter services will be added nearer the time.

And nearer to home, Chris Hodges, our Master of Music, had the following suggestions from the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), which you can find on their website (www.rscm.org.uk) . Their Hymn of the Day is updated daily Monday to Saturday with a popular hymn. Play the video and the words appear in time in sing along to an organ backing track. Like a karaoke version of songs of praise. Their Sunday Self Service is updated weekly and is a short service of readings, hymns and prayers. There is a printable service sheet to accompany the video. Similar to the daily hymn the words are all displayed so that you can join in.

BBC Radio 4 has a daily service at 9.45.
